You are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones, and members of the household of God. (Eph 2:19)

Baca dalam bahasa Indonesia di sini. This morning, my wife and I were reminiscing the time when God works wonders in our lives. One series of event were so unbelievable that I joked, “Our Patron Saints and Guardian Angels must have worked overtime and really earned their salary!”
Then, I came to this verse from today’s reading: “You are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones, and members of the household of God.” (Eph 2:19)
I was reminded that we have the privilege of the holy ones regarding us as “fellow citizens” and “members of the same household”. No wonder they were willing to work overtime and do extra miles for any of us! Imagine if a member of our household is in difficulty, wouldn’t we act as far as we can?
The thing is, many do not realize how close our relationship with the holy ones is. The Saints, who once walked in the same world as us. Who have won, and are now in Heaven. We are considered a member of the same household. Consider the combined ammunitions of wisdom and power! Wow. And many of us, including myself, did not care to know, nor learn, let alone use, those richness of the household of God.
Maybe that is what the enemy is so afraid of: for us to realize that we have so much richness, so much ammunitions to combat the evil ones, to face our daily challenges, to bear our cross. Because we are never alone! All members from the heavenly household is with us, helping and cheering us to finish the good race.
